Buying land vs buying a built house
By Sara Al-Maliki
A vacant plot and a built house are different legal products. For land, confirm plot number, area, land use (residential / agricultural / commercial), and whether subdivision or building permits are realistic on that parcel.
For a house, you still need a clean title — plus clarity on additions that may not match the registered description. Unlicensed extra floors are a frequent surprise after purchase.
Bring a surveyor or engineer for boundary and structure checks when the price is large. Registry paperwork and physical reality must tell the same story.
